MooMonitor+ is a wireless sensor that allows farmers to detect individual cow heats and health events with ease through data analysis. It monitors cows on a daily basis and identifies specific types of behaviours such as:
- Feeding
- Rumination
- Levels of activity
These features can aid in detecting heats, monitoring feeding and rumination patterns, monitoring cow welfare and managing the health status of your farm.
Rumination
MooMonitor+ uses rumination and resting as indicators of health. Rumination tells the farmer how the cow is feeling and adequate resting times indicate contentment and health. However, excessive resting time can also indicate illness. Dairymaster have systems built that will send alerts to the farmer’s phone if a cow spends more time lying than normal or less time ruminating etc.
